I don’t have to explain how technology has entered into every aspect of our lives. Just try to sit through a dinner with a teenager and their phone.
Technology doesn’t have to be a burden. One simple activity in my life has been transformed due to mobile phones: the grocery list. We all remember the days of scribbled notes on random pieces of paper. Or dad calling before leaving work to see if mom needed anything from the store for dinner. Those days are gone and the grocery list has gone high tech and collaborative.
App developers have created some amazing (and FREE) grocery list applications. The greatest feature is their “list sharing” capabilities. List sharing allows for anyone connected with a list to add, edit, and remove items.
Here are a couple of the highest rated apps and their features:
ListeaseAlthough basic in features, Listease gets the job done. Available on ITunes and Google Play
Grocery PalGrocery Pal has is the ability to compare prices between stores in your area. Lists are organized into aisles and categories, and shared between devices. The greatest feature is the ability to “clip” store coupons and add them to your store loyalty card. Gone are the days of thumbing through a bunch of coupons or forgetting to bring them to the store. Grocery Pal is available on ITunes and Google Play.
GroceryIQWhat sets GroceryIQ apart is the ability to add items from a computer and sync that list to multiple devices. GroceryIQ is integrated with coupons.com to add product coupons to your loyalty cards. Removing the need for physical coupons. Other features include: list sharing, barcode scanning, sorting by aisle, and many more. GroceryIQ is available on ITunes and Google Play.
Bonus UseI’ve used them as a running list for ideas, recommendations, and checklists. For example: present ideas; vacation planning checklist; and book, movie, and music recommendations. My “grocery list” app has become a virtual depository for all things “list”.
I hope that you find one of these great apps of use. Anything that helps save money and time is a good thing in my book. Happy housing from your favorite realtors.
